WD D50 USB C port compatibility

I understand that the WD D50 uses the JHL7440 chipset.
This chipset is compatible with USB C.
I connected the USB 3.1 port and D50 on the desktop.
And I expected the SSD inside the D50 not to recognize it, and it actually did.
However, devices connected to other external ports on the D50 are also not recognized.

Is it impossible to use all ports on the WD D50 without Thunderbolt??
I wonder if the backward compatibility of the C port is also impossible.

The WD D50 dock needs a Thunderbolt 3 connection to use all its features, including the internal SSD and other ports. If you connect it to a USB-C (USB 3.1/3.2) port, many functions won’t work. To use everything, make sure your computer has a Thunderbolt 3 port.
