WD customer service keeps sending me "cheaper" generic drives instead of RED drives I PAID for!

I bought x2 RED Drives for a NAS.
They both failed which I suspect they use that fraudulent SMR technology.
WD agreed under warranty to replace them. 3 months goes by…They sent me generic drives.
I questioned if these drives are RED drives with a different label, no response…
They then said return them… 2 months later they send me the same type of generic drive.

None of this is what i paid for and Im pretty much forced to go contact the ombudsman of Victoria.

Never in my life have i seen such $hit service!

Hi @spagbowls,

Please refer to the article WD Red Internal HDD SMR & CMR NAS Drive Information:
https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29458

Thank you for that. Yes I see RED dives come with the RED sticker as I thought.
Its funny how no-one can say “those aren’t red drives” in the pics provided.

So pretty much, I purchased two RED Drives that failed and WD Warranty support has sent me two generic “non red” cheaper drives in place of that… When I complained and sent them back under the instructions of the WD support team, they sent me back… two generic drives… again.

What should be done with this except write to my ombudsman?
