WD Caviar Green SATA Hard Drive, is it 6GB/s or 3GB/s

hello, it might be a stupid question but

how can I know whether my new Caviar Green hard drive runs @ 3GB/s or 6GB/s cuz I have bought on the new MoBo and I couldn’t read it anywhere on the hard drive o.O

That’s the SATA III CG, if your MoBo natively supports SATA III and no jumpers are on the drive and the setting is enabled on your UEFI, then it should be working as SATA III. You can run a benchmark with HD tune to confirm.

TBH, it really does not matter, as you will never fully saturate a sata II connection with that drive.  Sata III drives are backwards compatible with sata II, and you would be best to run this drive on a sata II port.
