WD Caviar Green 1.0 TB Drive not recognized by new enclosure!

At the end of a project with a Friday deadline, had ac power issues and need to place the drive in a new enclosure, have bought 6 enclosures and every time I get it set and hooked up, I get an unreadable disk/format prompt. Even tried a Kingwin EZ connect just to get the information off it—why won’t this work? I have checked and the drive itself is still intact.

Hi there, sometimes an external case can ask you to format the drive the first time so they can work together…

On the other hand, even if the drive is intact the data could still be corrupted…

Try a data recovery software, you can start with TestDisk as it is free (Google it) and if it doesn’t work then you’ll need stronger tools…
