Book shows ‘No Writeable partion found’… How do I get into the book to back up my hard drive?
Not only does book show no writeable partition but I cannot access Backup or Retrieve of software. I cannot look at nor does any files show in the WD book unit. How do I fix this ? Must I FORMAT THE BOOK? please help? Thanks
Hi, as a troubleshooting step, try using another USB cables and connecting the My Book power adapter directly to a wall socket. You can also try running a DLG test, to rule out any possible hardware damage.

I have the same problem as Roland, and have tried all of the diagnostics on lifeguard diagnostics. Nothing works.
