WD Blue SSD is not detected in my Old Imac 2009 24 inch

I see the disk when i connect using USB but when i connect to the SATA port of the machine it does not detect the same and boot from it .

white screen of death.

Is the SSD not switching to SATA -2 from SATA -3?
