WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD installed in Dell Precision 7740, wont power on

I installed this in my Dell Precision 7740, intel I9 core. I presently have 2666 mghz 16 GB RAM, I have ordered 3200 mghz RAM 64 gb that I’ll install once I have it.

Issue: My laptop however will not power on with the SN850 installed. Cannot access the bios settings either. With my old SSD installed the system powers on, all is fine. Can someone lend some guidance please? Thanks!

Both … Dell Mobile Dell Precision Workstation 7740 and WD Black SN850 have a PCIe Gen 4 x 4 interface, so that can’t be the problem.

The Dell has 4 slots … Slot 4: SATA; Slot 3, 5, 6: PCIe.
Changing the SSD into another slot?

I tried both slots 3 & 5, as I understand only these bays are bootable. Also I put the drive into a m.2 reader plugged into laptop, there was no response. Other SSD put into both laptop bays 3/5 and reader, both recognized. I’ve sent the SSD back. Thanks for the replies.
