WD Black not recognized after 3months

Hello

I recently bought a 1TB WD Black, it was working fine for the last 3 months.

In fact, I even installed win7 on it, so I’m dual booting it winXP which is installed in my seagate

However, last night when I tried to boot into win7, it gave me an error that the device (the wd black) is not accessible.

Then I tried booting into winXP, and it works fine, obviously it’s the wd black that has the error
I checked on my computer in winXP, and it only recognize my wd black as a RAW format with only 31.5MB free space

Is there anything I can do to recover my WD black?

any help is greatly appreciated
cheers

Do you have a Gigabyte motherboard with Xpress Recovery BIOS?

If so, then see this thread:

You can also try the HDD Capacity Restore Tool:

I would also upgrade your motherboard BIOS.

many thanks

the recover utility works like a charm =)
