WD Black Label Damaged

Hello,

I recently damaged the big white label on my WD Black trying to put it into my Lenovo T420s (the old drive is slim, while the new one isnt). I understand the warranty is void now, but my question is: if the label carries any meaningful function i.e. is the drive still useful?

The label is only necessary to identify the drive in order to process a replacement under warranty.

if the internals of the drive are good the drive willl function just fine

Thanks, I’ve been just thinking it might cover some auxiliary holes or whatever…

maybe only screw holes  doesnt matter anyway
