WD Black 32Mb 500GB - spinning down

I have a WD Black 32Mb 500GB hard drive (about 6 months old) and the last 2 days it has been spinning it self down at the wrong times and any program that was running either locks up or go to not repsonding, till it re-spins up.

It is spinning down in Vista, Dos (if that what it called now a days) and loading safe mode (infact I gave up on it loading safe mode as it was taking a long time).

Any ideas what to do?

Have you tried contacting WD’s Technical Support? I would consider giving them a call about this.
