WD Black 2 Dual Drive Reset?

A few months ago I purchased and successfully installed the Western Digital Black 2 Dual Drive on my Asus laptop. Everything worked properly. This week, I wanted to proceed to an clean OS re-installation on the same computer. Unfortunately for me, the computer ended up with a 1120.3 GB partition with no difference between the 120GB SSD and the 1TB HDD. I ran the “write zeros to drive” option of the WD Data Lifegard Diagnostic software but it didn’t solve the problem. The BIOS detects a 1120.3GB hard disk. How can the WD Black 2 Dual Drive be reset to its “out of the box” manufacture’s mode ?
Thanks for your support.

Hello,

Check page #15 of the USer’s Manual.

If you install the WD Black2 software it should automatically split the drive into the correct partitions. If you have the software installed already I would uninstall and then reinstall it. The software is what detects the drive and is able to properly split it.

Thank you Hamlet and LB_WD ! The installation of the WD Black2 software did it !

After reinstallaing the OS on the 1120.3 GB partition, I downloaded and installed the WD Black2 software, reboot and I the two partititons were restored.

Again, thaks for your help !

Thumbs up !

I don’t find the WD Black2 software in the link. I found only WD Black, WD Black (mobile), WD black PCIe SSD and WD Black SSHD. Where’s the WD Black2 software?
