WD Backup won't let me deselect files or folders

WD Backup in backup plan edit mode won’t let me deselect files or folders. I can select them if the tick box is empty, but when I click on the tick marked box it doesn’t deselect. What is going wrong? User guide and help both say that is how you are supposed to deselect files or folders. Do you need to hold a key down while clicking the mouse on a selected box?

@ianj19 Check and verify if you have the parent folder selected.
