WD Align - Powered by Acronis?

I have WD Align - Powered by Acronis from a download in 2012. When I try to use it to aligh the files on my C drive (only drive currently connected to the computer) I get a message "Not a Western Digital Advanced Format Disk. Drive are all SATA drives. This C drive is a WD Black 1T drive that I originally copied from the 2T Seagate drive that came with the Dell computer. I have four other WD Black 1T drives and when I have them attached to the computer I get the same error message. The Dell Seagate drive came with three partiticians Fat32 which I believe is the firm ware to run the drive, a NTFS recovery partition that has the original OS and data that is the virgin data on the drive and another NTFS (OS) (C) partition.
What do I do to get the WD Align program to work on my drives?

It would be best to share the exact model number of your WD Black units. Effectively, WD Align will only work with Advanced Format hard drives, and not every hard drive uses AF/4K.

There you go. That’s the previous generation WD Black, which is not Advanced Format.

I guess I should not have upgraded Acronis as the alignment program use to
work. I wonder how I can get the old Acronis back… In XP mode on this
Windows 7 machine the alignment program says it is not configured right.

I guess I looking for an independent realignment program. No need to buy
Western Digital hard drives anymore. I’ve been think of getting a C drive
that is just ssd and only Intel makes them. I have only 99 gigs of data on my
hard drive as I keep all my data on separate drive except for my documents.

Maybe you should try contacting WD Support about this. You can do so over the phone or via E-mail.

According to Seagate "Hard drive companies have agreed that all new laptop
and desktop hard drive platforms shipped after January 1, 2011, will be
Advanced Format compatible. Obviously Western Digital failed to follow the
agreement with it sale of hard drive. I guess I just bought the three 1T
drives from the wrong company.

Hi Photoroy9 - I am a new member here and I hope you can get this message. I am in the opposite situation from you. I just bought a WD hard drive which is Advanced Formatted, intending to run it on my old laptop installed with Win XP. The new WD hard drive I got have a sticker that says I need to download and run the WD Align program if is to be used with Win XP operating system. But sadly, WD website no longer provide this program and having searched the internet, I can’t find any where that offers this program to download.

Please…will you send me your download WD Align program ? Otherwise I will have to return this new hard drive and hope to get a refund, then look for another brand. I have sent you my email address by pm in anticipation of your kindless. Thanks and hope you can help.
