I use a Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Duo USB (with USB 2.0 and eSATA)
Please note: it’s an old one, not the latest model.
It works, however, fine with all WD drives up to 6TB (Green or Red).
With the new WD 8TB Red it does not work at all.
The HDD just does not power up.
There is no noise when I switch it on.
With the old HDD enclosure “Sarotech Hardbox Portabe Hard Disk Drive” - Model: FHD-354USFb3 - (with USB 3.0, Firewire & eSATA) the new 8TB Red drive works just fine.
Any ideas?
