I have a new WD 4tb Portable Hard Drive and have 1.7tb of movies put onto it for me. Trouble is I can connect to my Macbook Air and there is not a problem and it is recognised and I can watch all the movies however, if I connect to the usb on my Samsung TV the tv wont’ even recognise the usb, I connect it to my projector and it wont recognise the usb, I have also tried it on external dvd player and the usb is not recognised. I have tried two different usb cables and neither will work apart from on my macbook. Does someone know how I can fix this please?
It is because of the File Format on the drive.
Your drive may be formatted into HFS+J file format.
But your TV, projector and DVD Player supports different file format.
SO IM HAVING SAME ISSUE HOW DO WE FIX THIS I HAVE LOOKED AND IT SAYS IN MY DISK MANAGEMENT THAT IT IS NTHS.
You should check the compatible file system for your TV, projector or DVD Player so that the drive can work on these devices for you.
