WD 4TB portable hard drive

Hi Im new here

WD passport 4tb is starting to fail but it keeps crashing when it gets to between 77% and 99% is this to do with the fact that my hard is gone or not? Does anybody know? Please advise.

Also can you recover data from a non working game drive D10? I purchased any recover and that didnt work with the software and they didnt know why this was happening with my 4tb passport. Many Thanks

Your WD Passport 4TB crashing between 77%-99% could be due to bad sectors, drive failure, or a corrupted file system. Try:

  • Checking drive health using WD Dashboard or CrystalDiskInfo.
  • Scanning smaller sections instead of the whole drive.
  • Cloning the drive with Macrium Reflect or ddrescue before recovery.

For the D10 Game Drive, try different cables/ports, check if it’s detected, and avoid using it if it makes unusual noises. If accessible, Windows data recovery software can help recover data.
