WD 2go iPhone app does not play flac files

I can see .flac files stored on my MyBook Live via the WD 2go iPhone app, but there is a big question mark and they will not play. If I use iTunes on my computer, and navigate to MyBook Live as a shared resource, I can play the files. Why does it not work from my iPhone?

…because iPhones don’t support FLAC files.

Apple supports:

AAC (8 to 320 Kbps)

Protected AAC (from iTunes Store)

HE-AAC

MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps)

MP3 VBR

Audible (formats 2, 3, 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX, and AAX+)

Apple Lossless

AIFF and WAV

So you’ll need to use a different app to play them (and use the Open-With function of WD 2go.)
