Well I got two 1 terabyte versions running on an ubuntu machine and hey were slow as snails with lots of data corruption.
I tried 15 cables from four different manufacturers and nothing helped. I even tried a different 800 W powersupply. I did get a workaround for ubuntu by limiting the data transfer rates to 3Gbps in the /etc/default/grub.
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=“libata.force=3.0Gbps”
then:
sudo update-grub2
sudo update-initramfs -u
Now the drives are fast with no errors:
sudo hdparm -Tt /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
Timing cached reads: 6980 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3491.37 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 396 MB in 3.01 seconds = 131.44 MB/sec
The errors were:

Perhaps this can be fixed with a new firmware.
