Hi ppl,
I’ve just bought four WD RE 1tb drives from an online UK retailer.
On delivery I have noticed all drives have a manufacturing date of December 2016, I have used the warranty checker and discovered that all drives warranty expire in February 2022 (under 14 months time).
Speaking with the merchant I bought the drives from they said once they are registered I will receive the full 5 year warranty from WD.
I have registered said drives and the warranty status has not updated, still showing as Feb '22.
Can anybody give me a definite answer on whether these drives are covered from the date of manufacture or the date of purchase.
