Want to know the specifics of WD5000BMVW USB3.0 2.5 Inch. externel HDD

I bought a WD5000BMVW USB3.0 2.5 inch. externel HDD.

I’d like to know the following specifics of the product:

1.Mean time between failures (MTBF)

2.Average lifetime Load/Unload Cycle (eg. 600,000)

3.How many times of plug-in & plug-out the USB 3.0 MicroB socket can afford

4.How much power it consumed at Read/Write, Idle, Standby

Thanks!

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

Thanks you!

Following is the reply from WD support team:

Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting Western Digital Customer Service and Support. My name is [Deleted].

We no longer measure the reliability of our hard drives using Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF). Our current drive reliability is measured using Component Design Life (CDL) and Annualized Failure Rate (AFR). The Component Design Life of the drive is 5 years and the Annualized Failure Rate is less than 0.8%.

The power consumption and load/unload cycle count of the drive cannot be determined since it depends on the drive used inside and we don’t always use the same drive inside a WD external enclosure. The plug design is rated for at least 10,000 connect-disconnect cycles. WD Smartware drives use a 128-bit hardware-based AES encryption.

If you have any further questions, please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you further.

Sincerely,
