Want to connect My Book Essential 3TB to my Beetel 450 TC 1 Wi-Fi Modem

I want to connect My Book Essential 3TB to my Beetel 450 TC 1 Wi-Fi Modem. This modem has ethernet ports so I baught a USB female to RJ45 converter.

This way I thought that I could use this HDD wirelessly from all my devices connected to my network. But this is not working.

Can Anyone assist me do this?

Thanks

Hello,

The My Book Essential Drive is not a network drive. This drive has been designed to work conected to USB ports on your computer. I recommend getting a WD My Cloud or a My Book Live.

Thanks. Is there any way I can make this HDD work as wireless because I do not want to keep my PC switched on always. Any cheaper solution would be suitable.

You can try connecting it to a router with DD-wrt flashed to it, but i dont think any router will accept or show up 3TB drives.

Is the drive in warranty ? if yes, then try to sell it off and buy a Network drive.

If no, get an MBL casing with PCB and make your own network drive. As I can see Beetel, you are from India, you can message me , & I can guide you,Yep I am from India too,
