Volume low on wd tv live, when watching videos

Whenever watching videos on my wd tv live,I notice the volume is extremely low, and sometimes very high at parts, is there any settings i can configure to stop this on the device?I connect the device via an HDMI cable to a Panasonic viera. Also what do you think really causes this, and how can I correct it?

Try the Dynamic Range Control (DRC) settings … Page 176 of the User Manual

Also, Panasonic Viera has the Sound setting " Auto Gain Control

(Automatically regulates large sound level differences between channels and inputs)

I have exactly the same problem.  The audio output thru HDMI is 6-12 dBs down on the normal TV and DVD output.  I have tried it on 3 different Panasonic TV’s and the results are the same.  DRC makes little or no difference as this does not increase the level just compresses it and there is too much level difference for the TV auto level control to compensate for.  Ideally, there should be a means of adjusting the volume levels in 3 dB steps.  Not much of a problem, just some lines of code.  After all we are not dealing with Analogue.
