Is it right that the My Book Live cannot be placed on the map?
Initially it was linked to my pc via my modem but not its not placed since installing the wd link software.
Im a bit confuse with your question…if any, are you able to access the drive? If the drive is not working since you installed the (optional software) WD Link, have you tried to uninstall the software?

The drive is working fine - at least I can store files on it and access it. The problem is that within the Network and Sharing Centre of Vista when I click ‘view full map’ I just see my pc, gateway and internet all connected. My book live is on the bottom in a ‘the following devices cannot be placed in the map’ section.
I was wondering if this was normal?
