Video Stuttering on YouTube and Netflix after upgrade

I recently upgraded my HP Envy M6 laptop from a 1TB “mechanical” drive to a WD Blue 500 WDS500G2B0A SSD.

The process was to connect the SSD to the laptop with a USB to SATA cable, and clone the original drive onto the new drive, then take out the old drive and replace it with the new drive.

That worked great.

But then I started to notice occasional stuttering in YouTube. This was not happening before the upgrade.

Then today, it stuttered in Netflix for the first time, so bad that the computer rebooted.

I’ve done some research and I found out that I should be running in AHCI mode, but my bios doesn’t have that setting.

I’ve read about Intel RST as well, but I don’t believe that’s on my computer at all.

I’ve installed the WD SSD Dashboard, and it shows everything is normal. I even ran the extended SMART test, and that came back normal with no problems.

I’m stumped as to what to do.

Thanks in advance
Rick

I faced a similar issue. Expecting to get a solution here.
I did refer to this paypal money site and got satisfactory answers.

It stopped happening for me. Maybe it was just that the drive needed to optimize the data?
