Video not playing

Am currently unable to play any video from my computer through my WDTV Live plus.  have attempted reseting machine with the button and the factory reset, then leaving it off for 10 + minutes.  running vista 64bit. error message says “Unable to play selected file.  Please see user manual for a list of supported file formats.”  All AVI files that have been played before on system.  one directory of files will actually play, all my other ones will not.

Thought it may have been the MKV issue, but as I haven’t attempted to play any MKV files over the player, don’t think that’s the problem.  However, here’s the mediainfo dump for a file that will NOT play:

Don’t know  if this is a network issue or what, please help!

Ok, furthermore, I’m assuming that it’s a network issue of some kind, I can play both files from a USB flashdrive plugged into player.  I’m currently running  firmware 1.03.39_B, but the same problem was present prior to flashing to the beta.

How are you playing these files, media player or net shares?

I’d recommend net shares.  Media players will NOT play all types the Live can play.  If you *are* using net shares with no luck, make sure in addition to resetting the unit that you unplug it from power for at least 10-15 minutes.

I’m going to video → Media servers → then my computer name.   I’ve put both of the mentioned files onto a USB flashdrive and they both would play without difficulty from that, so I know it has to be a network problem.  Only thing I don’t understand is that it just stopped working.  Have been able to play these files since i got the box.

Yes – did you not read what I just wrote?

Don’t use media server – use net shares instead and they will play just fine.
