I’ve had my system for about 1 1/2 years. It’s a 4Tb system that was setup and worked fine. I have an APC UPS on it.
I was running firmware that was installed about 1 year ago. Everything seemed to work fine, performance was good. Yesterday I thought to upgrade the firmware, big mistake.
I now have 3 problems. Performance is VERY slow. Both copying to and from the system. Even the Web interface is very slow. This is the big problem. What I’m observing is that it appears to have network activity, pause and then pick up. It has become so painfully slow, that it is no longer can perform do what I need it to do.
In “Basic” mode it shows some Folder Shares are disabled, but they are working and in advanced mode they are not disabled.
The UPS connection is no longer working.
Part of my log below.
09/20 21:37:58 WDShareSpace daemon.err apcupsd[791]: apcupsd FATAL ERROR in linux-usb.c at line 649 Cannot find UPS device – For a link to detailed USB trouble shooting information, please see < http://www.apcupsd.com/support.html>.
… Other stuff in here where I upgraded the firmware …

I really wish I could “downgrade” the firmware. At it’s performance rate now, it will take me over a month to copy the data back off.
Warning:
- Downgrading device firmware to a previous version is not allowed.
