Very slow bitrate, disconnection

Hi,

I have my WD My Cloud 2TB since several months without issue so far. But when I come back from vacations last week, nothing was working properly. I am working on it since and I can say:

  • the self test (short and long) are returning no issue, so the disk seems ok (?)

  • After a reboot, the NAS is working ok if I do reasonable transfer but as soon as I tried to copy lot of files in the same time (from my Win Vista PC), the bitrate goes dramaticaly down (few ko/s) and after a while it stops saying he cannot access one of the file. Trying again and again make often the NAS to disconnect: I do not see it anymor from my Windows PC.

May-be an issue with latest FW?? Is there someone experimenting the same thing?

since you just came back from vacation I assume it is a lot of pictures being uploaded. very common issue, if you can get in with SSH run the commands below, if not be patient and it should come back to normal in hours to days depending on volume of data copied

/etc/init.d/wdmcserverd stop
/etc/init.d/wdphotodbmergerd stop

update-rc.d wdphotodbmergerd disable
update-rc.d wdmcserverd disable
