Verizon recommends the wdbabt0010hbk-nesn-1t western digital hard drive for verizon fios DVR model qip7232. I tried to connect following the instructions included in the box to install on a TiVo DVR even though I have a verizon DVR. The hd was not recognized by my DVR. I called verizon support and found the correct installation procedure is to turn your verizon DVR on so that your watching TV . Then power up the my book WD then plug the esata cable into the my book then into the verizon DVR. After a few seconds the verizon DVR found and recognized the external hard drive.
