My Passport was running low on space so I deleted the data that came from a discarded pc. After doing that there was less free space than before I started!

Windows 10. I have since started deleting unwanted backups.

Have you tried taking a backup of your data from the drive and then reformatting the drive?
When doing the backup, is it important or necessary to back up the
“History” folder?
