Using My WD Cloud as an USB port

Hello everyone,

I have external 2 tera HD connected in my home network. I would like to bypass the WD software when I get inside my shared folders.
Is there anyway to view the HD as USB port?

Cheers mates!

No.

But there’s also no need to use any WD software when you’re on your home network.

Indeed. I dont use any, not even to set it up.

OP: read the User Manual to learn about mapping network drives.

Can you connect the My Cloud to your computer using the USB port on the back of the My Cloud? No.
Can you connect an external USB hard drive to the USB port on the back of the My Cloud? Yes.

When you connect a external USB hard drive to the USB port on the back of the My Cloud the USB hard drive will show up as new “Share” within the My Cloud environment and it will be accessible and configurable through the My Cloud Dashboard as a Share. Read the My Cloud User Manual, it explains in more detail how to use the USB port on the My Cloud.
