I’m wanting to be able to use my WD HD drive off my car’s battery. I noticed the plug packs for the HD’s have an output of 12v but a car’s power supply is 13.8v. Would there be a problem supplying the HD with 13.8v or would I need to step it down to 12v?
I don’t really want to buy a HD that is powered via by my laptops USB cable as this would run the battery down in the laptop much quicker and I would really like to be able to use my current desktop HD.
I hope someone can help me out with this question.
