Using G-Raid with Thunderbolt with MacBook Retina 12" Early 2015

I have an iMac and MacBook 12". I do CarbonCopy backups to my G-Raid. A problem with my iMac meant I needed to access the files on the G-Raid. I purchased an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter but my MacBook comes up with the message “Thunderbolt accessories are not supported on this Mac”. But I had read the Apple document “Using USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports and adapters on your Mac notebook” and it actually shows my Mac there. So is this correct that I cannot connect my Mac 12" to my G-Raid Thunderbolt 2 drive? If so I’ll need to find another hardware backup solution.

Your older Macbook 12" has a USB C port, not a Thunderbolt 3 port. They are not the same. The Macbook was made for low end use and Thunderbolt accessories aren’t supported as mentioned by your computer.

You’ll want to contact Apple for more clarification.
