Using Download Folder for Shared Media--Would this allow streaming to internet users?

Originally, streaming media to users external to the LAN was not allowed in the Sharespace setup but does the remapping of media in the Public folder to the Download folder allow streaming to the users on the internet?  The procedure to remap the folder was posted here sometime ago.

If procedure is followed would a user who logs into Sharespace from the internet and uses the iTunes player or Windows Media player would it then be possible for that user to play streaming music if the Twonky server was enabled on the Sharespace?

I’m not sure what procedure you are disucssing, but it doesn’t sound very plausible to me based on your description of it. Could you provide more information?

Simple really–I would like to allow certain individuals on the internet to be able to point their iTunes libaray to my Sharespace so that they could play video or music.  I mentioned iTunes becuase Townky is designed to stream to a DLNA media player/device not a PC.  At least I believe that is correct.

So, what would be the proceedure to make this possible for these users?

Thanks.
