Use two MyBooks for Backup on same PC?

want to have more than one MyBook availabile for backups to PC. When I eject the first one (changed volume name) and mount the second one, WD backup software (WDSmartware or whatever it is called), indicated the volume name is the first drives name.

What is going on? Can’t backup software keep the two external hard drives straight?

Hello,

WD Smartware should be able to backup to each drive separately. Even if they have the same name. If you are having issues with WD Smartware then I recommend you uninstall it and reinstall its latest version.

I removed all the WD soft ware and just use the drives to image my system to with Macrium. It’s been ok for 4 years now.

That might decrease the confusion.
