Use the same drive on PC and Mac?

Hello all,

I have an WD external hard drive 1.5 TB. Directly out of the box I plugged it up to my old PC and put about 60 GB of pictures onto it. I then plugged into my Macbook Pro. I was able to take pictures off of the hard drive and put it onto my Mac but I was not able to put files or anything from my Mac onto the Hard drive. Is this possible and how should I go about doing so?

I imagine it isn’t to much to ask to use the same hard drive on both PC and Mac but it may be.

Any anwser would be greatly appreciated.
