USB WiFi stick not working (LED is off)

Hi,

Connected TP-LINK TL-WN723N to WDTV Live but even it’s led does not turn on. It does on other computers. This wifi stick is on the list of supported devices.

Any advice is welcome.
Thank you.

Do you have the latest firmware installed. Try resetting to factory defaults.
Does the stick have the same revision / version number as the one approved.

Version number differs: mine is 2.2, list is 1.1: is this a problem?

Latest firmware is installed.

Will factory defaults revert latest firmware?

If the version is the issue: should I expect a firmware that includes it?

Yes, hardware version numbers are important.  That’s why WD lists them.

Restoring defaults does not affect firmware version.

No…  These products are almost done.  The next firmware is going to be the last.

I have a Netgear WN111v2 which is on the USB Wifi compatibility list for WD TV Live and after upgrading to 1.06.43_V it does not connect as before ( or at all ). I have re-added the SSID and password several times and reset the device with no difference.

This upgrade renders this device useless to me…  is there a fix for this regression from 1.06.15_V ?
