USB Port Use

Greetings:

Can I use the USB port on the MyCloud as a printer server connection?

Thanks,

Opa Tom

Can the USB beused for anything ?

Sorry didn’t mean any offence, just interested in what does the manual say you can attach, I don’t have access to the manual or device right now, I’ll ask/ lookup tonight.

Bob.a:  Pay no attention to WD-Fan.    You will not get banned.

WD-Fan is a self-admitted “troll.”

Anyway, yes, the USB port is used to attach additional storage to the Cloud which can then be accessed via all the normal methods the Cloud offers (Network Shares, Remote Access, etc.)

Since my other question was regarding having 2 NAS devices connected and the Buffalo NAS has a print server function, that sounds like I should just reconnect the Buffalo NAS drive…

Thanks,

Opa Tom

If that is your primary use for the USB port, then, yeah…I guess so.   I have a portable USB drive connected to the port on my MyCloud.  My PC and laptop are backed up to MyCloud,  which then creates a SafePoint on the USB Drive, giving me redunency if the MyCloud dies.  The more backups the better…
