USB Port broke, took out hard drive but nothing can read it!

So the USB port on the back of my WD My Book got pushed up against the wall (the cable) and broke the port. I took the 2TB hard drive out of it but Windows, Ubuntu, and a Mac cannot read this disk.

What is up with that? How can I get the data off this hard drive? It has videos of my son that I want :frowning:

Well the board that has the USB port supplies hardware encryption. Any data recovered without that board will be encrypted and useless. You can see if an electronics repair place can sloder on a new port. You can look on Ebay and try and match board numbers up. Or take the board from an identical drive. Matching boards isn’t easy they get changed a lot. Then there is professional data recovery. Sorry I can’t offer bettter choices.
