USB path not found 400044

My 2TB cloud drive is driving me bonkers. I have a 2TB freecom HD connected to it for back ups. Every now and then, it looses site of the USB HD and adds another share in its place e.g. freecom, then freecom_1 etc. why this happens I do not know and when it does, the safepoint is not recognized and cant execute or other backups using WD smartware. Help appreciated.

This is a known issue with numerous threads discussing it. The solution is to remove/eject the USB drive from the My Cloud. Then access the Share page within the Dashboard and remove all other Shares that were generated with the USB drive name that have the _x extension. Then reattach the USB drive to the My Cloud and rename the USB Share back to it’s initial name minus the _x extension.

Hi Bennor.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for the guidance. I will put it in practice and hope it resolves my issues. To be honest, I regret buying this. I should have just used the USB drive in the external storage on my router. Not found it user friendly and buggy.

Thanks again!

If using v4.x firmware on the My Cloud, update to the latest firmware v04.04.03-113 released yesterday and see if the issue persists.
