Whenever I try to connect a USB drive to my media player, the media player doesn’t see it.

What is the capacity of your drive?
Also, make sure your device is properly formatted and working on a PC.
Try both front and rear sockets.
Upgrade to the latest firmware
Just tried to play from a usb stick Kingston 16GB and noticed that it only plays from the rear socket but fails as “no media present” when attached to the front USB socket.
What is the difference between the two USB sockets?
btw. it’s not the mechanical issue as other memory sticks I have work just fine with both usb sockets
