USB Backup using Synchronize or Copy Options

Hello: I backed up my entire synced directories to a USB Hard Drive for storage offsite. Now, a month later, I want to add any new files to the offsite backup. I believe I want to use the synchronize option so that it only copies new files from my local computer directories and files that have changed.

Is that correct? I don’t want it to recopy all the files because it takes a long time.

Hello richlocus,

If you are using WD Sync software then it will only update the new files on the existing Sync files, which you can move to the External storage device.

The COPY backup type will do just that.
The SYNC backup type will only sync (rsync) the changes and newly added files (minus any empty directories)
