USB 3.0 connection with WD TV Live

I have recently purchased WD TV LIVE.  I usually connect to seagate hard disk. Just yesterday I found there is some issue with the hard disk. So I have decided to buy a new portable hard disk.  I am looking at the storage capacity around 320 - 500 GB. There are some nice one with USB 3.0 port. My question is

Can I use a portable hard disk with USB 3.0 to connect to WD TV LIVE ?

I would appreciate some suggestions.

Hi there, 

It should work fine with USB 3.0 , must of the drives with this interface are compatible with both 2.0 and 3.0 cards.

There’s a list of WD Drives  here that should come handy .
