USB 3.0 and 2.0 speeds are the same!

Hi,

I got the 1tb mybook with usb 3.0 My motherboard can handle 3.0 and the drivers are installed. I plugged in my hd to it and I noticed it was slow, so I tried it on a 2.0 port and I got the same speeds. I dont think it is my pc, because when it was plugged into usb 2.0 my pc told me it would be faster to plug into the 3.0 port. Is there software I need to install??

Hi there, if your computer has native USB 3.0 support and you are sure you have the drivers and the drive has the same speed on both ports, then I would first change the cable and then test it on another computer to get a second opinion…
