If I buy a WD TV Live Mediaplayer from Asia and then bring it back to the US in the future will I be able to download the Netflix client?
The NetFlix “client” is ALWAYS installed, regardless of where the WDTV is being used.
It’s a matter of whether the hardware and geolocation tell the WD to enable it or not.
I wouldn’t do it. I had the EMEA version and had to return it as it wouldn’t show Netflix with 1.6.14 and unbl.-us.com in Europe. The US NTSC version worked fine in this environment so I guess that your asian version will be like the EMEA and have a bootloader or something simular to prevent it from EVER showing Netflix.
