Urgent help, my WD element has dropped and became unreadable

Hi,

I hava a WD element 500GB HD, it was dropped on the floor and became unreadable.

I plug in to windows and it detects a 2048MB drive in Computer > Manage > Disk management, of course it cannot be opened or recognized.

Just scanned my External Hard drive with Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. It shows an error that

Test Error Code: 08-Too many bad sectors detected.

I know it maybe dead already, however i have a lot of important working and daily data on it. Is there any other way will help my External HDD to fix/repair the bad sectors?

Many thanks!

Hi anguswong, welcome to the Community, sorry to hear you can’t access your files. Hard drive are very sensitive to physical damage. I recommend you to contact any of the WD data recovery partners for help, some of them can offer you a free evaluation of your drive.
