Urgent firmware update required. Two items

With the latest firmware, only 5 or 6 ISO or TS files can be opened before "Cannot open the selected file " notice appears.

The unit then has to be switched off and back on, to re-boot to restore operation. ISO and TS files are a very

convenient way to store DVDs. Quickest to make, and can at any stage be used for other conversions or burning.

My own DVD library is stored in this format.

2/ Add Zoom to DVD Play. Some DVDs are in extra wide format which leaves a gap top and bottom of the picture. this

cannot be corrected satisfactorily by altering the Aspect on the TV.

My WD Play, plays ISOs without limit, and has Zoom on DVD play. Add them to WD Live TV

Other Media players I have used, play ISO and TS without problems , and have DVD zoom. We need to catch up.

Yeah, it’s a bug.   Dozen to 1 odds it’ll be fixed with the next release.   It only affects ISOs, not VIDEO_TS structures.

Until then, you can roll-back to an earlier version to fix it.

As far as the ZOOM goes, you’re one of few people that want it…  Most people want to see the WHOLE picture, not have a FULL screen sacrificing the image in the process.   But, your opinion is no less valid than the other…

There is an OPTION.   If you don’t want MENUS, then you can launch the DVD in PREVIEW mode, and then enlarge the PREVIEW.   Zoom then works the same as all other formats; all you’re losing is the DVD menu structure.

Tony, mine doesn’t display the zoom option when I launch from Preview.  Runs the same as from List.

I do believe controlled Zoom is a useful option, the amount sacrificed  from the sides of the frame is small, unlike changing the aspect setting on the TV, which does remove quite an amount.

Seagate have a dedicated Zoom button on the remote, giving the ability to add as much as is required. Works well. and

is easily available for all kinds of play or display

Thanks,   Regards,  Kowhai

Make sure you’re doing it right.

Don’t launch from the Preview SCREEN, Launch from the Preview WINDOW.

In other words, navigate using the LIST of the PREVIEW screen and just wait until the DVD begins in the Preview Picture-in-Picture window.

When it does, CURSOR-RIGHT over to the PREVIEW window, and select ENTER.

Now, the PIP window becomes full-screen, and all the OPTIONS should be available, including ZOOM.
