Urgent Apple MacBook Pro vs. WD My Book 3TB (25EE) external hard-drive related help required

Urgent Apple MacBook Pro vs. WD My Book 3TB (25EE) external hard-drive related help required.

My MacBook Pro will no longer automatically mount my WD My Book 3TB (25EE) external hard-drive. Attempting to mount it manually results in the pictured error message.

This is a replacement WD My Book 3TB (25EE), the first one died losing all of my files, etc. and it looks like this one is going the same way. I really don’t want to lose everything again. Obviously.

Can anyone offer any help and/or advice? I really hope so.

Hi,

It is recommended to connect the power adaptor directly to a wall socket, use a different USB cable, try another USB port and avoid USB hub to isolate the issue.

I backup all my important data onto other hard drives so if a hard drive fails i still have the data on other hard drives. It’s the obvious thing to do if you’ve lost your data once and don’t want it to happen again.
