UPS support still not working in 2.2.9

Since the infamous 2.2.8 firmware release (and retract), the UPS support broke. It was working fine at 2.1.92. It’s still not working at 2.2.9. Here’s the error message:

apcupsd FATAL ERROR in linux-usb.c at line 649 Cannot find UPS device – For a link to detailed USB trouble shooting information, please see < http://www.apcupsd.com/support.html>.

This usually occurs because the linux kernel was not configed correctly during its build and the hidden devices are not correct. I would log a ticket, but my experience with support has been, well, not successful. The UPS is an APC XS 1500.

If anyone has any ideas, I’d welcome them.
