Upgrading to OS5 with existing docker containers

Hi all

I’ve been reluctant to upgrade to OS5 because of how I customized my PR2100 back in OS3. When OS5 was first released it did not have a base docker installed. It took me a very long time when it came to creating the docker containers that is running the software I needed. However, with WD persistently emailing me to upgrade I’m starting to re-consider leaving it as it is.

I do have some questions:

  • Will the OS upgrade wipe my existing docker containers?
  • Is it just a matter of exporting backups of my containers and rebuilding them once OS5 is installed?
  • Has anyone else undertaken this process and can offer any advice?

When I originally configured all of this it took hours and hours due to errors I made mapping the right directors for each container install. Aside from the security aspect, is OS5 worth upgrading to?

Hi @liammiller,

I’m having the exact same questions… did you manage to upgrade to OS5? What happened to Docker?
