Upgrade disks one at a time

I have 4*1tb disks in my ex4 set up as a 3disk raid5 with 1 spare. I would like to upgrade to larger disks without having to interupt the work of the ex4. Can I do this by replacing each drive one at a time, waiting in between for each disk to build, and then expanding the volume to the new larger capacity?
